How to make hair color last longer after dyeing? Shampooing, water temperature and color care methods
Colour fading too fast? Slow it down with first-wash timing, water temperature, wash frequency, colour-safe products, heat tools and sunlight.
All dyed colors will gradually change with shampooing, sun exposure and heat styling. The difference lies in the fading speed and process. After bleaching, light colors, bright colors and gray matte colors usually require more maintenance than dark browns.

Do not use too high a shampoo temperature
Overheated water not only makes your scalp uncomfortable, it may also make your dyed hair drier. Use water with a moderate temperature. The shampoo mainly cleans the scalp. When rinsing, just let the foam pass through the hair.
Choose the right color care product
Color-protecting shampoo and color-replenishing shampoo have different functions from ordinary shampoos. Complementary color products may affect the tone and uniformity. The frequency of use and stay time should be based on the product instructions and the designer's recommendations. The longer the stay, the better.
Reduce unnecessary high temperature and exposure
The temperature of hair dryers, electric irons and ionic clips are too high, which may make dyed hair drier. You can also use hats and other methods to reduce long-term sun exposure during outdoor activities, but avoid suffocating your hair for a long time while it is still wet.
Fading does not mean staining
Some colors will appear in different stages depending on the design. Before dyeing, you can ask about the expected direction of fading, home maintenance and color touch-up requirements. If you have not yet decided whether to bleach your hair, you can read Do I need to bleach my hair before dyeing it.
Hair color maintenance time will vary depending on base color, tone, washing and care habits and environment.
