How to use color correction shampoo? The difference between purple washing, touch-up color and color protection after dyeing

Does purple shampoo really cancel yellow? What toning, colour-depositing and colour-safe shampoos each do, and how to avoid patchiness or dryness.

Purple shampoo is often used to adjust the yellowish look of bleached hair, but it is not a bleach and cannot wash dark hair into a light color. The purposes of color correcting, color replenishing and color protecting products are different. Before using, you should first confirm the current base color and the direction you want to maintain.

Color correcting and color correcting shampoo products should be used according to the current hair color

What is the principle of purple washing?

Purple pigment can visually neutralize some of the yellowness, but the effect will be affected by the brightness of the hair color, the pores of the hair and the residence time. When the background color is not light enough, there may be no obvious change after use.

Why is the color stuck or uneven?

The ends of your hair that are more damaged after bleaching may absorb color faster. Placing a large amount of product directly in the drying area, leaving it there for too long, or starting from the same position every time may cause partial purple, gray, or uneven results.

What should you pay attention to when using it?

Follow the product instructions first and observe for a short period of time; wear gloves and rinse thoroughly. If your scalp is sensitive, your hair is severely damaged, or you have just received a special color, ask your stylist before using it.

Can it replace salon touch-ups?

At-home products are good for maintenance, but won't handle all uneven fading, root differences, or complex tones. When the color distribution is obviously inconsistent, it is recommended to send photos for consultation first, and do not mix multiple complementary color products on your own.
